The Challenge
CVC Technologies, a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical packaging machines, was seeking an end-to-end IoT solution to fully digitize their pharmaceutical liquid filling and capping machines. The company aimed to enhance the safety of their equipment, introduce digital maintenance capabilities, and gain visibility into machine status from anywhere at any time. The challenge was to find a solution that could provide real-time visibility into the machine's status, deliver direct cloud connectivity and digital services, and simplify all aspects of the machine's lifecycle, from engineering to maintenance.
The Solution
CVC Technologies opted for an EcoStruxure Machine solution, which included a range of digital services. The EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor was used to provide real-time visibility into a machine’s status. This allowed for immediate response to any issues, enhancing the overall efficiency of the operation. The Modicon M262 logic and motion controllers were implemented to deliver direct cloud connectivity and digital services. This enabled remote monitoring and control of the machines, further improving operational efficiency. Lastly, Lexium 32 servo drives were used to simplify all aspects of the machine’s lifecycle, from engineering to maintenance. This resulted in faster commissioning and more efficient maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting.
