IoT Solutions

Huawei and China Telecom have won GSMA’s Best IoT Innovation for Mobile Networks’ award at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2018. The award recognizes the two companies’ success with an innovative suite of NB-IoT solutions that have won recognition in the industry.

China Telecom signed an IoT business partnership agreement with Bridge Alliance, enabling China Telecom to provide Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) services to multinational enterprise customers across Bridge Alliance’s footprint.

China Telecom is using Keysight Technologies’ mobile-IoT test platform to help accelerate its Narrow-Band IoT (NB-IoT) chipset and module certification progress. Based on the E7515A UXM wireless test set, Keysight said it is the only all-in-one test platform vendor to support China Telecom’s NB-IoT RF conformance test and power consumption verification.

China Telecom and Ericsson are launching a global management support platform for IoT devices. The platform known as ‘China Telecom’s IoT Open Platform’ will enable customers to deploy and manage IoT devices that are connected globally.

China Telecom and Telenor Connexion have presented a common Internet of Things (IoT) Open Platform at the launch event for “eSurfing on the Silk Road, IoT with the World” in Shanghai. This common platform enables both companies to serve their respective customers by providing IoT and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) services on each other’s network.

From monitoring the energy efficiency of our homes to finding more productive ways to feed the global population, harnessing these connected “things” and turning massive amounts of raw data into actionable insights will have a transformative impact on society. However, both technical and business challenges are slowing IoT adoption. Decision makers within companies are trying to gain a better grasp of expected ROI, cost, and scalability, while IT managers struggle with integration, Interoperability, management, and the need to tailor to specific verticals. Intel is addressing these challenges by offering open and scalable products, fostering a thriving ecosystem, and showing what is possible with pilots and use cases that demonstrate the potential value and ease of deployment. Intel offers a comprehensive portfolio of end-to-end hardware and software with built-in security. To make IoT simpler to deploy and scale across applications quickly, Intel offer the Intel IoT Platform, a design blueprint that details how to securely connect and manage a fleet of “things” from small sensors to huge server farms that make up the cloud, while using various analytics tools and technologies along the way.

Singtel in partnership with Ericsson recently launched an IoT ecosystem for operators, networks and devices. The IoT ecosystem integrates stand-alone IoT applications into a single solution with the aim of solving the fragmentation of the IoT market and make it more open. The solution will provide consumers with an overview and control over all of their connected devices, including personal, automotive, and smart home.

Qualcomm® IoT technologies and solutions utilize the real-world Connected Intelligent Edge to offer end-to-end, ready-to-deploy solutions so customers can digitally transform their businesses to optimize their operations, monetize massive amounts of data, innovate in new ways, and drive cost savings.

Also, Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensors deliver a better user experience by using technological advances and acoustics (ultrasonic waves) to scan 3D features such as ridges, valleys, as well as pores of a user’s finger for a deeply accurate image. This allows the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Sensor to scan fingerprints through solid surfaces like glass and metal even while wet.

With the growing use of cloud infrastructure services and the advent of fabric-based computing, security professionals will find it increasingly difficult to segregate network traffic using traditional firewall technology. As computing platforms proliferate, data that had previously been split up and partitioned among physical infrastructure will converge in the cloud, making it more difficult for security professionals to isolate and protect their most critical data and systems. Encrypted communities of interest can help address this problem. Unisys work with many of the world's largest companies and government organizations to secure and keep their mission-critical operations running at peak performance; streamline and transform their data centers; enhance support to their end users and constituents; and modernize their enterprise applications. They do this while protecting and building on their legacy IT investments. Unisys's offerings include outsourcing and managed services, systems integration and consulting services, high-end server technology, cybersecurity and cloud management software, and maintenance and support services.

China Telecom's exploration of Industrial Internet is about building the Industrial Internet to meet enterprise requirements. The production line will be open to the Internet in a series of steps. Smart Manufacturing requires Heterogeneous Network integration with IP reaching deeper into the production process. China Telecom can provide an M2M service and Internet-enabled management of offline resources using big data of customers.
